Eligibility and Funding

Why are our courses free?

You are probably wondering why and how our training courses are fully funded, especially when considering the substantial costs typically related to staff training solutions.

The simple answer is funding via the UK Government in the form of the Education & Skills Funding Agency (ESFA). The ESFA is accountable for funding education and skills for children, young people and adults. With £58 billion of funding for the education and training sector, they’re responsible for ensuring the budget is suitably spent.

Within that financial plan, funding is allocated to the Adult Education Budget (AEB). The AEB fund a range of accredited programmes ultimately giving Free Staff Training access to CACHE branded courses, meaning learners gain qualifications from the specific sector.

What is the Adult Education Budget (AEB)?

By utilising local training providers and colleges, the AEB fund the delivery of education and training for learners aged 19+. The AEB sets the aim to provide facilities and funding to enhance engaged adults in the following ways:

  • Increase Health and Social Care and Awareness
  • Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
  • Improve Digital and Media Skills
  • Refresh the skills of individuals
  • Prepare adults for the workplace
  • Support career changes
More importantly, the AEB is available to be utilised by employers.
Improving Digital skills and/or knowledge concerning a specific industry
is a key government focus for both now and the future. Refreshing skills
of an employer’s current workforce and improving their progression
opportunities are viewed as significant factors, by the government, in
allowing individuals to progress their lives and careers.
