Build simple software components (whether web, mobile or desktop applications) to be used by other members of the team as part of larger software development projects.
They will interpret simple design requirements for discrete components of the project under supervision.
Knowledge
The software developer technician apprenticeship programme is designed to equip employees with the knowledge and skills to develop as a software technician within any business, supporting productivity through the use of software. They will learn a range of skills, from developing an app to working as part of a larger software development team, allowing them to meet the needs of any business. Apprentices will be able to write simple code for discrete software components, following an appropriate logical approach to agreed standards (whether for web, mobile or desktop applications).

Skills
Note down the outcomes of tests and keep accurate test records and reports; compare test results against expected results and acceptance criteria and through traceability to requirement.
Those with an annual wage bill of less than £3m do not pay the Apprenticeship Levy. Instead, 95% of each apprenticeship is funded by the government whilst a 5% investment is required by the employer to enhance the skills of their employee.
